Another design from creative director Henri D'Origny. This time from 1981 shortly after his designed the Arceau.
The design is inspired by the portholes on the legendary Clipper, the fast three-sailed cargo ships that dominated shipping in the 19th century. The caseback also features an impression of the iconic Hermès logo, the "Duc Attelé, groom à l’attente” drawn by Alfred de Dreux and purchased by Emile Hermès. The Clipper was produced from 1981 to 2010.
