The Cape Cod is a watch designed by celebrated creative director Henri D'Origny, who across his nearly 60 years at Hermès designed countless ties and scarves and a few watches. In 1991, Jean-Louis Dumas, CEO at the time, wanted a simple square watch. So he turned to D'Origny, with no formal training as a watch designer, who playfully created something different: a square within a rectangle.
