The Pasha was said to be originally designed by Louis Cartier for the Pasha of Marrakech, Thami El Glaoui, in the 1930s. It was a one of a kind design, highlighted by a screw-tight cabuchon and vendôme lugs, meant to meet the needs of the Pasha.
The watch was modernised by Gerald Genta in 1985 as demand for sport, waterproof luxury watches increased.
This example is from the 1990s and retains much of the early design language of 1980s model. It features a cream dial with arabic numerals (3, 6, 9, and 12) and is sized at 38mm. The railroad minute dial is shaped as a square inside the round case (evidence of Cartier's love of playing with shapes) and the cabuchon is of course a beautiful blue sapphire.
This watch has some patina on the dial and scratches on the caseback, appropriate for its age. The bracelet is brand new from Cartier.
